Total Productive Maintenance Workshop 8-9 Oct 2008
This 2 days workshop will cover the following points. -TPM Core Values and benefits -Loss, Costs and Efficiency -Eight Pillars of TPM -How to implement TPM in an organization -Roles of Top/Middle Management in TPM Implementation -Factors in Successful TPM
Introduction With a properly implemented TPM program, it is possible to eliminate loss, increase profit and create a better working environment. TPM originated in Japan aims to establish a corporate culture that will maximize production system effectiveness. It organizes a practical shop-floor system to prevent losses before they occur throughout the entire production system life cycle with a view to achieving zero accidents, zero defects and zero breakdowns. TPM is designed for manufacturing, but its concepts can also be deployed company wide involving all personnel in all the departments of an organization from top management down to front-line operators. The unique 8-Pillar approach in TPM is comprehensive in the way that it encompasses all activities and all employees towards the improvements. Deployment basically means to implement these activities in small and well- synchronized steps. These steps are designed to steadily graduate people and activities from one level of achievement to the next, while gradually modifying traditional ways into TPM way. TPM thus brings in a total cultural change in the whole organization — always looking towards improvements and betterment.
